About

Keep Our Desert Clean was founded by Scott Wexton in the Summer of 2009. Wexton, along with his wife and dog, moved to the high desert in late 2007. They were enthralled with the beauty of the desert but also dismayed by the amount of garbage they saw. They would daily walk their dog thru the various trails by their house and would see everything from tires, to TVs, to yard debris dumped in the desert. The final straw came when they encountered construction materials left on their favorite trail. That is when Scott decided something must be done, and the idea for Keep Our Desert Clean was born. Barack Obama had just won the presidency, and hope and change were in the air. And so was the idea of community activism. To give something back to the community. So Scott spent the next handful of months planning, researching, and preparing to launch KODC.

Keep Our Desert Clean is in our infancy. We look forward to growing as an organization and growing along with the community. We strive to do the absolute best we can do to preserve the natural beauty of our environment. To keep our desert beautiful. To keep our desert serene. To Keep Our Desert Clean.
